For this project, we implemented a tapered insulation system to correct the roof falls, ensuring optimal water drainage. A multi-residential building was experiencing rising damp due to failing waterproofing, leading to moisture problems and potential structural damage. To resolve this, we removed the saturated topping slab, replaced the failed waterproofing with a high-performance system, installed a new screed to fall for better drainage, and added a sump to prevent future water pooling. The entire area was then sealed with a premium waterproofing membrane, ensuring long-term protection. With the new system in place, backed by a 20-year warranty, the building is now safeguarded against further moisture issues, providing a dry and safe environment for residents.

In this case, we were engaged to investigate and resolve persistent leaks that had led to mold growth in the stairwells and water ingress into habitable spaces, posing both structural and health risks. Our process began with a desktop study, where we analyzed available documentation, previous repair attempts, and environmental conditions to understand potential failure points.  

We then applied an elimination approach, systematically identifying suspected problem areas, implementing targeted repairs, and monitoring the results to assess their effectiveness. Through this method, we eventually pinpointed the primary cause—failed waterproofing on one of the building’s roofs. Once identified, we replaced the failing waterproofing with a high-performance modified bitumen system, ensuring durability and long-term protection against future water ingress.

Over the past few years, we have partnered with some of Australia's leading waterproofing suppliers to deliver technical training sessions aimed at upskilling contractors nationwide. Through these hands-on workshops, we have trained hundreds of professionals, providing them with practical experience in advanced waterproofing techniques.
